"I designed this property to capture the essence of traditional architecture while seamlessly integrating a modern living experience."
Anthony C. Benfield
Project Manager & Consultant

Anthony C. Benfield designed and constructed this property in 2001. It features an A-frame cottage design that aligns with local area planning guidelines and reflects the architectural traditions of the region.

The property includes a brick plinth with rendered walls under a peg tile roof, with inglenook fireplaces and traditional chimneys. Projected gables and smaller subservient structures were integrated to evoke a sense of timelessness and durability.

Overlooking the scenic conservation area of the Abberton Reservoir, the design of the home was directly influenced by its stunning natural surroundings.

The property was built on a pile foundation with beams to accommodate the heavy clay soil conditions, ensuring structural stability.

The estate spans 2.5 acres, featuring 141 fully mature specimen trees, enhancing its natural beauty and seclusion.

The property was sold for £1,050,000 in 2012, reflecting its unique design, prime location, and adherence to traditional building principles.
